Y Board Members

The Illinois Valley Y would like to take applications for Board of Directors openings.  You must be a Y Member with a desire to increase the organizational presence in our community.  Meetings are at 7:30am on the 4th Thursday of every month and committee meetings are held on a monthly basis.  The commitment to the philosophy of the Y and the ability to assist in financial development and part of being a Y board member.

Applications are available at the Courtesy Counter and are due February 1st, 2012

Annual Y Care Campaign has begun
Illinois Valley YMCA members have received information in the mail on how to give to our annual Y Care Campaign. If you decide to contribute to this valuable campaign, 100% of your money will stay at the local Illinois Valley YMCA for the benefit of the community. If you are interested in giving, please contact the YMCA at 815-223-7904.

Therapy Pool-Opening Thursday, November 3rd
The Illinois Valley YMCA has one of the most advanced therapy pools in the state. Come and relax in our jetted seats, walk on the underwater treadmill, or walk against the current. Enjoy the warm water therapy adn inviting seats where you can have your aches, pains, and cares relieved. If you have aching joints or just want to relax after a workout, the therapy pool is the place to be.You MUST BE 18 YEARS AND OLDER TO USE THE THERAPY POOL AND SPA. We also have a large 6 person whirlpool at the other end of the therapy pool.

For the Love of Swimming
Join the Dolphin Swim team. Learn proper stroke and form technique, sportsmanship, goal setting, and competitive spirit. Coaches are American Swim Coaches Association and USA Swimming Certified. The program is open to all athletes aged 5 to 2. read more
